The 1st OpenOffice.org International Summit Forum was successfully concluded in Beijing

¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
¡¡¡¡ The 1st OpenOffice.org International Summit Forum, sponsored by China Open Source Software Promotion Association (OSS) and undertaken by Beijing Redflag Chinese 2000 Software Co., Ltd., was successfully concluded at Beijing Hotel Nikko New Century on May 15th, 2007. This forum held ¡°Openness, Innovation, Communication and Promotion¡± as its key sprit, and sticking to the attitude of advancing open source technology¡¯s application, valuing return to open source community, and promote international cooperation. More than 100 distinguished guests attended this forum, including Deputy Department Director Chen Ying, Product Department, Ministry of Information Industry, Academician, Mr. Ni Guangnan, China Academy of Engineering, Mr. Louis Su¨¢rez-Potts global OpenOffice.org open source community principal, General Principal Mr. Michael Bemmer, OpenOffice.org project of SUN Inc., General Manager Mr. Hu Caiyong, Beijing Redflag Chinese 2000 Software Co., Ltd., Mr. Wang Xingyao, Vice President of SUN Inc. and Dean of China Research Academy, officials from multinational corporations including IBM, Intel, Google and representatives from Redflag 2000, Red Flag Software Co., Ltd, Sursen Software, CS2C, Digital China and other companies. Representatives present at the Conference made multi-perspective discussions on many frontier issues focused by international and domestic experts, such as open source software¡¯s promotion, innovation, open source enterprises¡¯ business model, and relevant standards, etc.
¡¡¡¡At this Conference, Redflag 2000 signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Principal Mr. Michael Bemmer, SUN Inc.¡¯s OpenOffice.org project. The signing of this agreement showed: Redflag 2000 had begun to enter OpenOffice.org community at a large scale; Redflag 2000 would make contributions to global OpenOffice.org community in the development of international advanced free office software. SUN Inc. and Redflag 2000 would conduct cooperation on OpenOffice.org¡¯s technology content; the two parties would dispatch technicians to do deeper level technical exchange; except providing great support in the aspect of technologies, SUN Inc.¡¯s professional experts would also help improve China office software¡¯s quality through OpenOffice.org¡¯s platform. It is believed that cooperation with OpenOffice.org community would also further improve China open source technology¡¯s strengths. Principal Mr. Michael Bemmer, SUN Inc.¡¯s OpenOffice.org project, said, ¡°We have seen the prospects of cooperation with Redflag 2000, and this agreement¡¯s signing is also a good beginning.¡±
