Barcelona local time, Sep. 19th, 8:30 am, OpenOffice.org 2007 Annual Conference (OOo), the international open source conference, was formally opened. Redflag 2000 specially dispatched a delegation to exchange views with elites present on the conference, on the aspects of products, services, etc.
General Manager Hu Caiyong of Redflag 2000 was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled Software is a Type of Culture. In his speech, by taking the successful promotion of RedOffice in China as an example, he illustrated the direction and model of OpenOffice development in the future should be re-considered. The development of OpenOffice should surpass simple localization concept, surpass technology itself, and get rid of pure technology research and discussion. It should integrate more local cultural characteristics. It should be considered from the needs of users, and seek support and instruction from government¨s policy level. As to how to promote the further development and application of OpenOffice.org, Mr. Hu indicated Redflag 2000 had not been satisfied with the already achieved results, instead the company would contribute the most newly technology achievements to international community. Only by ＾Contributing and Communicating￣ can a company achieve corresponding status and have a say in the community; only by strengthening cooperation and exchange with the community can the Company achieve further development. From now on, in the community, Redflag 2000¨s influence would be more seen in the community.
