III. Bid Aim
¡¡¡¡As a global open community and organization, OOo community, or open source community, has been enjoying a very high popularity and exerting great influence in Europe; however, it has not been known by Asian insiders. Therefore, it is the best and most direct way to expand the popularity of OOo in Asia and enable OOo, or international open source technology, to play a greater role around the world by choosing Asia as the platform of OOo annual conference.
¡¡¡¡China is becoming a software R&D center with high-quality software researchers in the world along with the rapid development of IT industry. Holding OOo annual conference in China can help more university students and technical staffs learn OOo closely and make more support and contribution to the Community, which will promote the development of OOo and open source technology. China has the largest users market in the world, still with large number of PC-users increasing every day. Currently, in China there are not only mature open source technical products, but also huge number of open source users. Therefore, holding the OOo Annual Conference in China, promoting its application in China and making more users use open source software will have significant influence on further completion and development of open source technology internationally.
¡¡¡¡China¡¯s open source technology is still at the fledging stage. It is necessary to learn international open source community¡¯s advanced and mature experience in the aspect of technology and market operation. We hope through holding this international open source technology conference, we can exploit more expansive international cooperation space for China open source community¡¯s development.
